Last day in Nairobi

Aahh...a blog I can rely on, finally...Hopefully my friends and familiy will be so kind to put lots and lots of nice comments here.

After 10 days in Nairobi, I am leaving the comfort of the big city and head for Sigowet, a few miles east of Kisumu. I have completed 8 days of Swahili learning, a crash course as they call it. And I'm quite exhausted by the amount of grammar that I've taken in this week, prefixes, suffixes, noun classes and personal pronouns are swirling around inside my head. Luckily I haven't started to dream about it yet. Tonight will be our last day with easy access to everything, think we'll have ourselves a beer or two to sum up our experiences in Kenya so far.

Hi Mari!

How funny this is, to be able to follow your exciting adventure in Africa ; ) I'm truly impressed by you, as I've told you many times, but I have to say it again and again ; ) We are just done celebrating Chrismas, and hopefully you had an excellent Christmas as well. Tomorrow I'm leaving for Uvdal for some skiing and celebration of the new year. Hopefully there are some snow! I hope the new year will bring you lifelong memories, and maybe we will share some if we decide to visit you in Africa! I wish you all well, and please keep us informed of your doings on his blogg!

Hugs and kisses Vig

Times have changed - When I went to Madagascar in 1974 at your age, people had stopped using months to get there by boat some years earlier, but the airfare was so high it was no question about somebody coming to visit during the two years I was there. The contact with Norway was by letter, and if you were lucky a letter used a week, if not months.
Best wishes for your stay, and contacts with people of Kenya. T.
